1986 Panasonic DX-4000

For sale is a 1986 Panasonic DX-4000. This bike has been sitting in storage for most of its life. Very little miles put on it. Handmade in Japan with Tange 2 double butted seamless tubing and Tange TP dropouts. Japanese bikes are known for their superior quality. The frame and fork is chromed underneath the paint. The paint is a metallic glittery blue and silver. The components are in brand new, NOS, condition. The derailleurs are Suntour Sprint, on par with Shimano 600 Ultegra. the Suntour Sprint stuff has a nicer finish than the Shimano 600. I would say it would rival Dura Ace. A modern bicycle like this would sell for well over $1,000 and that is for the frameset only. Nothing on the bike has been changed out, with the exceptions of the saddle, tires and tubes.

  1. Looks strangely like my Fuji League from a year prior, 61 cm.

Might still have the old brake levers somewhere. I wonder if Panasonic just simply rebranded them.

The frame is extremely solid, I would recommend a compact double and more modern (reliable) brakes.
